Someone asked Judy, Can you teach writing?

“A teacher can pass along information and lecture about elements of the craft; she can read fine examples from the masters and lead exercises for students to turn their pens to. She can hold the space for dialogue and participation and do her best to create a safe and nurturing environment and present workshops that she hopes are exciting and stimulating. Have courage, she can say, take risks. Write your passion. And read! You must read! But, in the end, it is by writing that the writer learns to write.”
