Terms and Conditions

(the small print)

 

 

Registration fees cover the costs of the workshops, workshop materials, guest speakers, readings and other workshop related activities. Meals, lodging, air and ground transportation, taxes, and insurance fees are not included.

 

Upon receipt of your deposit, accommodations will be reserved at Hotel Granvia in Barcelona. However you must make payment arrangements directly with the hotel. You can reach them via the Internet at www.nnhotels.es, or email them at hgranvia@nnhotels.es. Their telephone number is (34) 93 302 60 46. They are located at Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes 642, 08007 Barcelona.

 

If you prefer to make your own lodging arrangements, please let us know if we can provide a list of suggestions for other accommodations.

 

Workshop participants are required to make their own travel arrangements. Passports are required for international travel.

 

Deposit of $100/€75 is required at the time of registration, no later than June 1, 20004. The balance of $400/€325 is due by August 1, 2004.

We can accept only checks (personal, business, travelers or cashier) or money orders for workshop payments. You may be able to request “blank checks” from your credit card company. They work like regular checks but the amount is charged to your credit card.

 

Refunds will be made with written notification in the following manner:

Deposits refunded, less a 25% service charge until July 15, 2004.

Registration fees refunded, less a 25%  service charge until August 20, 2004.

No refunds will be made after August 20, unless a replacement participant applies.

If the workshop must be cancelled, participants will receive a full refund of any fees paid.

 

Insurance Trip accident, health and baggage insurance is recommended. For your additional comfort and protection, we strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance at the time of booking.

 

Management and Responsibilities: “Writing Barcelona” is not a travel agency and in all matters relating to the making of arrangements for accommodations, sightseeing tours and services provided incident thereto, entertainment, and transportation by air, railroad or motor bus, can assume no responsiblitiy for and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, porpetry damage, or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of (1) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any of the suppliers, (2) any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions on the part of any employee or any of these suppliers, (3) any defect in or failure of any ehicle, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by any of these suppliers or (4) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions of any other party not under the control, direct or otherwise, of “Writing Barcelona.” In the absence of negligency, “Writing Barcelona” accepts no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in air or other services, medical issues or any kind, weather, strikes, or other causes or circumstances beyond its control.

 

By registering with “Writing Barcelona” I agree that it is the intention of “Writing Barcelona” to conduct workshops as described. “Writing Barcelona” absolves itself of any responsibility in connection with complaints or claims arising from persons who join the Workshop.

 

I hereby agree to participate in the “Writing Barcelona” workshop and by full payment of the registration fees acknowledge the terms in this Responsibility Waiver and my acceptance of the nature and content of the Workshop.
